Snow Play
Snow can provide a great sensory experience. Share your favorite snow activity (it can be an indoor or outdoor activity)
I like to walk out a path and have the kids follow the path. Sometimes I put activities along the way or things for the kids to do and other times I just create fun and crazy paths for the kids to follow.
Some of our favorite winter sensory activities include: *making a path in the backyard with the snowblower so the kids can still run when the snow is deep. *shoveling a path on the sidewalk between the front door and the backyard, then the kids make a train and we do a physical movement along the way with one kid being the engine (leader) and one kid being the caboose (bringing up the end). *bringing outside spray bottles filled with colored water for the kids to paint the snow *bringing out the garden diggers to dig holes *using plastic garbage can lids to sled down the sides of our built-in slide hill *on days that are too cold, bringing in snow to the sensory table to play with *filling buckets/containers with water (one cold and one warm) and predicting which will freeze first *filling a bucket with hot (nearly boiling) water and setting it outside with a tree branch hanging above it. The warm steam will frost the branch.
Hi Guys-I thought I would share this link so some more fun activites to do in the snow. Thanks for sharing your great ideas! area https://training.ndchildcare.org/Ei/Courses/Constant%20Contact/December/10%20Outdoor%20Winter%20Activities.pdf

i like your spray bottle idea. Do you use food coloring to color the water or does it stain clothes?
